I sent several $100 bills in 4 different letters so Toni and Christina could buy a car and evangelize the villages. While looking at the car advertisements in the biggest Sofia newspaper, God kept really impressing on Toni one particular car. It was a little old green 1978 VW Golf with an oversized engine -- a real rocketship! Many of the locals told us it was a miracle for all of that cash to get through the Bulgarian postal system.
At this point in time, we had absolutely no reason to believe that I would be returning to Bulgaria. The car really was for Christina, Toni, and the church to use for evangelising. But, as it turned out, this was God's anointed car which would take me and various companions to 700 villages over the next 4 years before finally dying.
