The apostle Paul instructed believers:
“But even if we, or an angel from heaven,
preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you,
let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again,
if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have
received, let him be accursed.” (Galatians 1:8-9)
“For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light”
(2 Corinthians 11:14)

Paul also warned against false apostles and false prophets
who would come and:
“... preach about a different Jesus than the one we preach,
or a different spirit than the one you received,
or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed
... these people are false apostles” (2 Corinthians 11:4,13)
And again, Paul warned about “a different gospel” (Galatians 1:6)

Unfortunately, it is very easy for any person to be deceived
by a spiritual experience which is not from God!
Two of the most famous examples are:
(1) An angel who claimed he was Gabriel (the archangel)
gave Mohammed another gospel, a different Jesus, etc.
... and this resulted in the religion of Islam,
which places the Qur'an first, ahead of the Bible!
(2) An angel who called himself Moroni
gave Joseph Smith another gospel, a different Jesus, etc.
... and this resulted in the Mormon religion,
which places the Book of Mormon first, ahead of the Bible!
(Prior to this, Smith claimed to have had a vision of both
God the Father and God the Son appearing together,
which was later called "the first vision".)
The apostle Paul wrote to Timothy:
“Now the (Holy) Spirit expressly says that in latter times
some will depart from the faith (the true gospel),
giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons ...”
(1 Timothy 4:1)

Scripture emphasizes there is ...
only ONE true gospel -- only ONE true doctrine
“the gospel of God” ------------------------------------- Romans 1:1
“the gospel of the grace of God” ---------------------- Acts 20:24
“the gospel of Christ” ---------------------------------- Romans 1:16
“the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God” -------- Mark 1:1
“the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation” -- Ephesians 1:13
“the everlasting gospel” ------------------------------- Revelation 14:6
“the doctrine of God our Savior” --------------------- Titus 2:10
“the doctrine of Christ” ------------------------------- 2 John 9
... and the verses given above warn us to discard any
other gospels and doctrines which come along later.

THE GOSPEL (good news) that Paul taught:
Salvation is available by the grace of God
... it's a gift, and it's not by any good works (Ephesians 2:8-9)
... and it's only through faith in the Son of God, Jesus Christ.

The apostle Peter also warned us about being deceived:
“... there will be false teachers among you,
who will secretly bring in destructive heresies
... and many will follow their destructive ways,
because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.”
(2 Peter 2:1-2)

In the New Testament, God has warned everyone ...
REJECT any gospel which is different than the original gospel
(which is the gospel taught by Jesus, Peter, John, Paul, etc.)
BECAUSE any other gospel is from Satan, our mortal enemy!
